A SMILE CHANGE CAN BE NECESSARY TO DO YOU GOOD!

DO YOU HAVE AN UNCONTROLLABLE URGE TO SMILE...BUT CAN'T?

I enjoy shaking things up all the time! And, you should too! I discovered early in life that growth is dependent on flexibility and change. And, my love for the SMILE has proven this to be so.  It is human nature to shy away from change. It usually comes with discomfort, occasionally pain, and often inner or external conflict of some kind.  As we say, "no pain no gain"....!

Based on my experience as a successful and forward thinking smile designer, I know some of you are averse to changing how you think.  When introduced to challenging or new information regarding your oral health, or anything else for that matter, you often decide that it does not apply to YOU.  You may make excuses while isolating yourself in your own world and refuse to learn about how your smile health could be improved.  Often, you may feel too proud to ask for, and accept, help in the areas you feel weak in or are struggling with.  In doing so for too long, your oral health may become not just a struggle but also something that is utterly detrimental to your overall well being.

Does this description apply to YOU?

If so, you may think about the fact that "You don't know what you don't know"!

Your current oral health IQ has allowed you to care for yourself to a certain extent.  Your life is as good, happy, and balanced as you know how to make it. Knowing more about your smile health should, logically, grant you the tools needed to greatly improve how your smile feels, looks, and serves you on a daily basis. I am certain that you now WANT to learn more about how to care for that FABULOUS curve on your face that we call your smile!

A recent survey conducted by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry ( AACD ) focuses on the role cosmetic procedures play in the general population.  What I found was interesting and very true to how I feel my patients react when experiencing their newly enhanced smile.  Dental cosmetic procedures such as whitening treatments, veneers, crowns or bridgework, Invisalign, dental implants, and bonding are among the popular services my patients inquire about and benefit from. There are various reasons why this is so.  This survey concluded that:

  • 86% of patients elect them to improve physical attractiveness and self-esteem
  • 46% of patients elect them for restorative or health reasons
  • 45% of patients elect them to look and feel younger
  • 48% of patients elect them in anticipation of upcoming events.

My point to you is that the more you know about WHAT is available and HOW to use this information and technology in optimizing your oral health the more inclined you will be to actually do something about what you may have, for a long time, felt less than comfortable about.  Educate yourself in a caring, safe, and encouraging environment so as to increase your chance of enjoying a "Smile You'd Be Proud To Wear...ANYWHERE!"
