GET MORE CONFIDENCE IN YOUR SMILE

What does a confident smile mean to YOU?

A confident smile is one you are proud to wear...ANYWHERE!! Your smile is one you should feel good about no matter where you are and what you are doing with it!  Think about the other qualities and attributes that make you feel good about yourself.  How do they make you feel?  Does your smile bring you confidence, high self esteem, and the desire to show it to the world? If your answer to any of these questions is NO then you may want to reconsider how to make it a positive contributor to your overall well being.  And if your answer is YES, congratulations to you! Could there be something more you can do for it to look even better?

Often, my patients ask me how to make their smile more attractive, how to make it more comfortably functional, or what to do to make it less painful or sensitive.  Thinking about these questions, and wanting to simply answer them without getting into too much detail, I have chosen to create a brief list of possible procedures or therapies available to bring renewed health, shine, and shimmer to your smile.  Here goes!

  • Regular Comprehensive Examinations
  • Regular Hygiene/Professional Cleansing Appointments
  • Address Active, Recurrent, or New Caries ( Cavities )
  • Stabilize Your Periodontal Health ( Gums, Bone, and Smile Supporting Structures )
  • Replace Missing, Worn, Broken, Or Unsightly Restorations, Fillings, or Crowns
  • Whiten Your Teeth Professionally and Safely
  • Replace Missing Teeth
  • Align/Straighten Crooked or Malpositioned Teeth
  • Monitor Your Gums For Bleeding, Inflammation, or Redness
  • Monitor Your Smile for Halitosis ( Bad Breath )
  • Ask Your Dentist To Make Sure Your Teeth and Restorations Mimic Natural Contours and Form
  • Do What is Necessary to Make Sure Your Smile Shape Looks Like a Smiley Face and Not a Flat or Upside Down One. Your Smile Should Not Look Like a Frown.

These are just a few items to consider as food for thought! Your smile says much about you! Make sure it is telling the story you want to relay.  Your smile is one of the first attributes others will experience when relating to you.  It is not just something they are looking at; it is part of one's EXPERIENCE when in your presence.  Does yours represent you well? This is a conversation you should feel comfortable having with your dentist and smile team.  If, for some reason, you are not at ease discussing this topic do whatever is necessary to communicate your thoughts in some other manner...either via email, a written message....or whatever!  Get creative!  A loving, caring, and experienced dentist will welcome your thoughts and should feel privileged for being given the opportunity to assist you in achieving that "Smile You'd Be Proud To Wear...ANYWHERE!"
