IT’S HEALTHY TO SMILE CONFIDENTLY!
The power of your smile is grand!
When able to smile confidently, you feel and look better. I am very proud of the opportunity I have been given to enhance your smiles! I often write with the intention to educate and inspire you to learn more about oral health and its implications on your over all well being. Today, I feel like sharing my sentiment about how blessed I feel to have been given the chance to make you feel and look your best.
As many of you have read in my previous blog entries, a healthy and attractive smile is imperative to your psychological and physical well being. Oftentimes, you may feel down and unable to understand why. Without you realizing it, a smile may help to reverse that in just an instant. Whether your own, or that of someone else, a warm and attractive smile affects brain chemistry in such a way that it stimulates "happy hormones". These hormones make you feel good and even reduce your stress levels.
My point today is to emphasize the power of your smile. Smiling confidently improves your outlook on the day's purpose and goals. It also impresses those around you, allowing them to experience the same. I am sure you have heard that smiles are contagious.
A dear patient of mine has had a difficult year involving both professional and personal tribulations. Her smile was not one she felt proud of nor was it one that mirrored her beautiful physique. Despite her beauty and intellect, she felt less confident and attractive because of her less than gorgeous smile. Her front teeth were stained and restored with very large and unattractive composite resins ( tooth colored fillings ). These served her well for over 20 years. Now, it was time to enhance the overall appearance of her smile. It was showing signs of wear, discoloration, and overall breakdown. After much deliberation about treatment options, we decided to restore her smile with porcelain veneers. I cannot tell you how much happier she is today! She smiles confidently and feels significantly more positive about her opportunities, goals, and overall outlook on life.
It seems trivial to think a smile can affect you so significantly. Well, it can. It can bring you up, or down. It can inspire you, or not. It can reveal happiness, or not.
Is YOURS inspiring you?
It is never to early, or too late, to work towards being the healthiest you!
Your smile should be one "You'd be Proud To Wear...ANYWHERE!"
