DENTAL IMPLANTS, AN OPTION IN SMILE RECONSTRUCTION VII

Welcome back to Dental Implants Blog Series! You have learned so much about dental implants! What else should you know? And, how can  you tell if implants are the right choice for YOU?

As with any medical procedure, you and your dentist should discuss complications related to the healing factors that could influence long-term success of the implant.  Placing the implant and allowing for full integration with your jaw bone may take a few months.  Your dentist may be able to make a temporary crown, bridge, or denture that you can use during this healing period.  The delivery and adjustment of these transitional restorations may also require more than one visit.

Dental implant therapy could be costly.  Speak to your dentist about how your insurance may be used to help fund this cost.  Some insurance companies, however, do not cover this procedure.  Our office will be happy to assist you in determining whether or not your insurance company provides this type of coverage.

Speaking with me, or your dentist of choice, will help determine whether dental implants are an option for you.  As your dentist, I would be most familiar with your oral health and history, thus helping you understand which restorative options are best for you.

As part of a comprehensive examination, I will check the condition of your mouth, the supporting bone in your jaws and the way your upper and lower teeth fit together.  I may gather additional dental xrays or models of your mouth and teeth.  Together with a surgical member of my Smile Expert Panel, we can then utilize this information to determine whether you are a good candidate for dental implants.

You're welcome to contact our office to schedule your consultation with me.  Remember, I would be proud to help you achieve the Smile You'd Be Proud To Wear...ANYWHERE!!
